Angle
Before the rain, we took a trip to West Angle Bay for a walk along part of the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path, with good views across to the nineteenth century fort on Thorn Island, built to defend Milford Haven from the French. We then paused for refreshments at The Old Point House which, a guidebook tells me, has been a pub "since at least the sixteenth century." I'm not sure whether that means since the sixteenth century or earlier or later.
We then passed the fourteenth century fortified tower at Castle Farm. Apparently these are common in Ireland but this is the only one in Wales, built to keep its occupants safe from pirates.
