Saturday

Flew by in a flash. After tidying the interior of Amadeus Dippy and bid three early risers who were heading out to Lundy for a week of rock-climbing. We then headed out for a quiet walk across the stubble left by the combine harvester recently. The most beautiful landscape was on show with streaks of mist draped over parts of the valley and coastline below. A leveret heard us well before we saw him and danced away from its form and through a gap in the hedgerow. As we approached his open home Dippy soon sensed that something with a heartbeat had recently been there and his his nose hit the ground with excitement as he frantically searched for the hare !
We continued our walk and I picked and ate some blackberries which are fattening up nicely now.
Back at the campsite campers were stirring and I was invited for a drink with a family who were staying here for a wedding at Tapeley manor just across the fields. I stripped down the bedding from the tent whose occupants had left for Lundy and started the laundry process.
Both sets of chickens and the the peacocks were grateful for some fresh salad and bread to complement their usual food.
A short bike ride in glorious sunshine to find my cycling legs before preparing for a bbq and gathering later on.
E and I recaptured one of the usual suspects that go oink before the rain started to quietly fall from the grey skies.
A small but happy group of friends enjoyed their evening with enough food for two days not one.
Bed bedtime soon called and grateful I was.
