Leap Of Faith

A friend has been burning designs into wood for many years, since retiring and wanting something to do.

It is a hobby, he doesn't make money at it but has many orders, and has a stunning portfolio of work.

When I asked him if he could do me a plaque showing the Jaguar logo (known as the Leaper..) he said he would give it a go. He had not done one before so for both of us it was literally a leap of faith, with nothing lost, nothing gained.

It is burnt onto a block of wood that he has sourced especially ( actually a cutting board from a charity shop..)  and treated with a clear lacquer to preserve the finish.

I am thrilled, it is so close to the original design photo that he worked from.  A nice addition to my small collection of Jaguar memorabillia. There is something else in the pipeline which will definitely be a blip if it comes off. More on this at a later date... fingers crossed.
