Full effort...
First day of the final test match of the "Summer" between England and Sri Lanka. A damp, grey, and gloomy day in South London, meant that only 15 overs were possible in the morning session, after which I decided to cut my losses and head for home. I was partially vindicated in this decision as there was a three hour delay before play resumed, but on the flip side I missed seeing Ollie Pope make his seventh test century, his first at his home ground. However I will be back there tomorrow when the forecast is much better.
The main blip is of Sri Lanka skipper Dhananjaya de Silva completing a fine diving stop to prevent a boundary. The extra shows Ben Duckett flailing a ball through the off side to bring up his half century. You can see an extended version of the de Silva chase, and much, much more by going here to my Flickr page, which I've finally started to populate
