First winter lights run and unusually hot

Met up with the departing Secretary for MAC for an initial 'handover' meeting. Also met her dogs, daughter and granddaughter Poppy. Poppy was unsure of me and not keen on playing my 'boo' game, unlike the dogs, who loved my attention. One of S's dogs had been for a physio swim in a local pool, created in someone's garage, especially for the purpose.  She can't go for long walks as her legs are too sore, but loves the weekly swim. After chatting about the role of Secretary we agreed on another meet after my holiday where we will do the handover.

Feeling achy from yesterday's gym, I decided to take it easy for Soul Runners.  We went on a new route circumnavigating Northey Island nature reserve. It is the first time that I have been on the Island since I went with B. The owners have improved the footpath and although there is some off road it is better than the route to the sluice (my normal route). By the time we reached the Prom it was dark so that we had the blip view of Maldon. Nearly 9k total run, including my run to and from the meeting point, so I am glad that I decided to take it easy. Some runners also went to Bridnoth - I bailed out on that bit. G and I were the slowest today, but I ran a steady pace and enjoyed it. First dark run of the year and still very hot and humid.
