Palm Stings

Today's thumbnail of my image may at first glance appear to be a palm tree in the satsuma orange glow of a tropical sunset but it was actually taken from our driveway looking in through our kitchen window as I stumbled around in the semi-darkness desperately scrabbling around for a shot.
It's not even a palm but the misnomered title comes from the fact that when I'd moved this pot plant earlier in the day I'd engaged far too closely with those spines resulting in what felt like wasp or a bee stings to my hands and that the first name of a 'tropical' location that came into my head when I first looked back at my shot was Palm Springs! :-)
