Museumbrug, Amsterdam

I wandered along the Singel towards the very civilised and newly-renovated Rijksmuseum at 7pm on a summer's Tuesday evening - towards a rare late night museum opening. Amsterdam has to be one of the most glorious cities of Europe in the summer.
Named after the Rijksmuseum, the Museum Bridge (Museumbrug), or bridge number 82, is a solid slab bridge in the centre of Amsterdam and dates from 1877.
The bridge carries on the Singel canal and connects the Spiegelgracht with the bicycle tunnel of the Rijksmuseum .
Until 1977 there were also tram tracks on the bridge and car traffic, but no more.
