A bee foraging on old peppermint flowers

I've been staying close to home these last few days as the car has a mechanical problem, whereby the passenger window is stuck half open. I'll be taking it to the garage tomorrow.

In the garden I saw this bee sallying forth in search of food, and spending a bit of time on the old peppermint flower stalks, which prompted me to get out my macro lens. The light was rather poor as the day turned towards dusk. I was pleased that the tiny details of the flowers have shown up well.
