Lisbon: last day
Our last day in Lisbon so we headed out fairly early to do the remaining things on our wish list. We aimed for the new funicular up to the Miradouro de Graça but even though it has only been in service for a few months, it was closed for maintenance. Instead, we took the stairs to the top, which were covered by lots of street art. I particularly liked this view on one of the bends in the stairs. From there we got the 28 tram back down to the centre and did a bit of a walking tour through some of the areas we had wanted to see.
By that time we were some distance from where we started but having tried the '28' for part of its route one way, decided we would do the full route back to the hotel. Rather than walk back we got there via an underground train, a walk, an older funicular and another walk. The funicular driver warned us of pickpockets operating in the area so I kept my hand firmly on my wallet!
The ride back on the 28 was fun, especially going through some of the incredibly narrow streets. You can get a bit of an idea from one of the extras I've added, together with a shot of the tram at the start of the run.
We'll be experiencing the atmosphere at the Time Out market again for our last meal here, before heading home again via Amsterdam tomorrow.
