Moon
Busy day today. Had to get the sample photographs ready for putting out at my wife's school, and then go down for their afternoon performance so that I could take orders. Then repeated this for the evening performance. Got quite a few orders. I'll split the takings between myself and the school, so I should be able to replace the printer cartridges I use printing out the pictures.
As a result, I came home just as it was getting dark and still had a blip to find. I noticed the moon rising above the rose bushes at the end of the garden and thought I'd try to get the roses and moon in the same shot.
Of course, it wasn't as straightforward as this. If the rose was in focus, the moon was well out, if I exposed for the moon, the rose was too dark and vice versa. There was no way round this - especially as it got darker. In the end, I just decided to go for a shot of the moon with the telephoto. After some serious cropping, I ended up with this study.
