Cacophony

Today’s online Swahili lesson with Yusuf flipped somehow into a lesson during which I taught him some basic Portuguese. This was much more energising than my attempts to learn Swahili. The main challenge was every kid in Yusuf’s neighbourhood crowded around as he sat on some steps, and they wanted to shout greetings the whole time.

A nighttime soundtrack of cacophonous dogs was quite challenging to block out, but I eventually succeeded.
