The day after the concert, and we did some serious exploring...
We walked all around the city centre, took in the Manchester Art Gallery and The People's History Museum, and then caught the train home in the early evening. I was thrilled to see Lowry paintings in person.
It was fun to explore a large English city that isn't London (although it is very reminiscent of Croydon in many ways, albeit much larger and more prosperous-feeling); we enjoyed the tram-tracked streets, varied architecture, relatively dense compactness of the centre, and found several excellent cafes as well...
