Flying in to Preservation Inlet …..

….. ….. ….. and our first view of our vessel for the next 6 days, the ‘Fiordland Jewel’.
The helicopter flight over the mountains from Te Anau to Preservation Inlet took about 30 minutes and it was dramatic. Breathtaking! There are more images in Extras.

The rest of the day saw us 11 guests settle into our new home & cabins, with a short tender ride around the fiord, or kayaking. I settled for the tender.

This is my first backblip, for 23 August. There’ll be 5 more!
