Loch Morlich, anti-clockwise

One short train journey followed by 3 bus trips and I was on the shores of Loch Morlich in the Cairngorms just after 11.30. I wanted to recce the Loch Morlich circular walking it anticlockwise, I’d previously done it the other way back in May. It worked much better in reverse finishing on the beach in time for lunch. I didn’t feel like repeating the straightforward Logging Route back to Aviemore so bussed it and discovered the timetable which hasn’t been updated since 2022 is inaccurate. When I eventually got back to Aviemore I splashed out on the train back to Glasgow, a route I did regularly when I was working, I hadn’t realised how spectacular it is. Good to catch up with a pal who happened to be in the same carriage returning from Inverness.
