La Rochelle

We left La Tremblade this morning and headed north to explore the Île de Ré and La Rochelle. The former is similar to the Ilé d’Oleron though I think both Mr C and I thought Oleron was nicer. La Rochelle turned out to be a lovely port town with great people watching opportunities. This was one of my favourites!

After dinner in La Rochelle we headed up the road to Montreuil Bellay, our overnight stop for the night. Turned out to be a rather splendid chateau of the mansion house type. A good place to stop for the night.
