After dark
I realised it was dark (almost) and I had no blip so raced out and took some pics of the primroses which are starting to flower. I had no idea of the colours and am pleased with the range.
I had a day full of little jobs, walk, minding Leo, gardening, cleaning, shopping, washing. Phew. Bob is cooking dinner because it is “his turn”.
Our brother has sent a very comprehensive document on what he has found about the family ancestors. It’s complicated as often many generations had the same Christian name. Some sisters married brothers so swapped surnames. Many were called nicknames. 9% of our ancestors are from Ireland, 6% from Scotland and the rest from 15 different counties in England. Oh and one from the US.
Many emigrated and settled in Bathurst and surrounding towns as this was the first area settled in Colonial days after they crossed the Blue Mountains in 1813. This enabled settlers access to land west of the mountains and made the first settlement at Bathurst in the same year. Unfortunately the local indigenous people were hunted from their land.
