'Broad beans in a blankety bed' believe it or not is a line from a Harvest hymn we have sung at church, thankfully not for a long time, and I was reminded of it this morning as I prepared these beans for blanching.

We haven't grown them they came in our veg box this week and as Chris doesn't like them they are something we rarely have. I, on the other hand, do like them so I was preparing them for a salad for my lunch - see left.

Eating out with friends tonight so this light lunch was perfect especially in this weather.
