Icebergs, Icebergs Everywhere!
Here we are in Ilulissat, Greenland -- known as the birthplace of icebergs. It is postulated that the iceberg that sank the Titanic was calved here. Anyway, apparantly the Illulissat Icefjord produces nearly 20 million tons of ice each day!
We took a small boat cruise out into the ice field to marvel at these bergs -- most of which were easily the size of multi-story buildings. I took over 130 photographs, and had a really hard time picking one image, but I liked this one because it shows some bergs with "dirty ice" and others with really nice blue ice. These guys were HUGE -- at least the same height as a 15 to 20 storey building!
Extra: An impressively huge iceberg with three "caves" which looked both alluring and terrifying in equal measure!
