Kaleider Kaleidoscope

I am drop dead exhausted.
I went out to get my meds this morning, but the assistant couldn't find the prescription. I am sitting on the seat on my walker. Finally a hour later they said, you'll have to go to the surgery and ask the receptionist for another.
Not a chance I said, I have already been to one shop, parked the car near the pharmacy, walked to the pharmacy, and my feet are hurting badly. And I now have sciatica with sitting on my walker seat which is not meant to be sat on for an hour, just a few minutes.

Then someone found my prescription, it was in the wrong pile she said. We'll put it in the pending pile now. I glared at her, you've had this prescription for over a week, it should have been made up by now, ready to hand to me. (Normally I get a text saying my meds are ready, I subscribed to that service, but this time the text was a few days late, even taking into account the bank holiday, and so I had to go down to find out where it was since I cannot telephone to do so) Pharmacist pipes in, I'll do it now she said. Would you like to sit down, she says, it'll be half an hour. No chance I said, if I sit on this walker seat another half hour, I'll be totally unable to move. (They've had no chairs since Covid and lockdowns, and refuse to provide them again). I'll be back in half an hour. We'll have it ready for you then pharmacist says.

I went back to the car, but I am already too tired, my legs and feet hurt. I had to move the car because it wasn't in a designated parking spot as there were no spaces in the surgery car park and I was in the way a bit. Came back 3/4 hour later. No parking spaces by now, so I create one, I can barely do any more walking.

Just a few more minutes they said. We're awfully sorry they said. And there are 4 owing. Come back tomorrow and see if we've got them. No chance I said, I need a day to recover all this. Next week , I said.

I get home.

The two cars parked opposite sides of road outside mine, were still parked opposite each other. It was very difficult to get out of my driveway earlier because I just couldn't just turn out of my driveway or I'd have clipped the rear end of my neighbour's car (Mr Insensitive). I had to manoeuvre, to straighten up, so I could drive through the inadequate gap. And even then my wing mirrors only had an inch or two from the parked cars each side.

It looked like there was something going on between the two neighbours...

I got my stuff out of the car, but I was accosted in my driveway by a virtually non-English speaker, who produced a card which was so badly printed, it was impossible to read. Sorry, I can't hear you, I'm deaf. But he keeps talking. I am not opening my house door, and where is a neighbour when you need one? No one walked past.  I tell him to go, but he is very persistent. Give me your card and I will photograph it, I said thinking that might scare him to go. No no he said, and put it in his pocket quick. I could make out the first name which was Hamish, or Hameen or something. I was repeating it in my head, but I had too much to deal with here, and I was exhausted. I manage to get my stuff inside my gate and lock the gate, but he is still instistent.  Go, I shout at him...Leave, I shout. I cannot tell one word of what he was talking about. He leaves, and I make sure he is out of sight, then I unlock my door, and get my stuff in quickly and lock up. By this time I don't have one scrap of energy left. I fell asleep on my bed. I woke up at 6pm.

Oh no, I have to get recycle ready for tomorrow 7 am. I am too tired and in any case the two cars are still parked opposite each other, and the bin men won't come in this close, if they are like that in the morning, happened before. Both cars have extensive driveways to park on.

I leave the recycle and go straight back to sleep again. My feet and ankles are killing me. I woke up just now, 9 pm, and I am trying to keep awake, because I have not drunk anywhere enough fluids today, because I was out, and then asleep when I came home...and you get a long post on my day...

I don't think I can drink any more...I am trying to eat a tangerine, not had anything since breakfast. Was too tired to do anything.

Another wasted day...and it is going to take me tomorrow to recover, and I hope H , whatever his name is, doesn't come back, Or I will call the police. I have a text number I can use...never tried it yet....

Creative...I am scraping the bottom of the barrel here....this is my hand held cleaning steamer in Kaleider...

EDIT ON THE PHARMACY BIT...There was a delivery service at this pharmacy but I never knew the day they would deliver. They didn't text in advance of the delivery. I asked. If I don't answer the door in time (which often happened, I am slow in moving) then the meds went back to the pharmacy, where they sat and waited for me to to collect them, but I didn't know that a delivery of my meds had been attempted. And I was constantly looking out of the window for them. It was a heck of a faff, tiring, and a time waster. A neighbour offered to take the meds in, but the delivery gentleman refused saying he had to hand them to me.

Finally I gave up on the home delivery. And they stopped that during Covid and lockdowns anyway.

The pharmacy tried several systems.

Now, I wait for the text to say they are ready. And I go down and pick them up. My meds, and other people's meds are all bagged up, and waiting on the counter for collection. There is normally no waiting now while your meds are made up, because they don't like you hanging about in this pharmacy, hence no chairs are provided. The system works well now, unless they lose your prescription...
