A quiet day

And a very hot day. This morning before it got too sweltering, I took down bindweed that had crept over the fence at the bottom of the garden. I also cut down some dead wood, some of which required me to use a chain saw. Rocky the cat was a disinterested onlooker, despite the noise of the saw, enjoying the shade of the adjoining raspberry bushes that have long since finished fruiting.  Later he posed for this photo in the garden. He is on the run we got when we first got him and were getting him used to the garden. It now has a carpet draped over it and it's a favourite perch for Rocky.
