Having a dig

During a walk earlier today I noticed a large digger and dump truck in a field that has only previously held cows. I got chatting to the workers as I thought they were clearing topsoil in preparation for building work. As it turns out they're looking for an old mine shaft. Apparently there was a small coal pit here back when Adam was a lad. The huge mound they are clearing are the tails from the old mine.
