The 3 Peaks Challenge
My grandson and one of his friends have taken on the 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for the Walton Centre in Liverpool. A hospital that saved his friend’s father’s life and where I also received specialist treatment earlier this year.
For those not familiar with the 3 Peaks Challenge, they are required to climb the highest peak in Scotland, England and Wales in a single 24 hour period.
This pic was taken by my grandson (the one with the beard) on Saturday morning as they reached the summit of Ben Nevis (Scotland). They then went on to climb Scafell Pike (England) and Snowdon Yr Wyddfa (Wales) in a total time of 22 hours and 13 minutes.
To say we’re proud is a huge understatement, they have done something truly wonderful, raised over £3,500 and have proven themselves to be fine young men.
