Sigyn at Wasdale (Day 3397)
After getting Sigyn out for her early morning wander, and sorting out some stuff at home, I headed to town to have a look at a bathroom re-fit and hot water cylinder swap. It looks like a relatively straightforward job, and I have left the customer with a bunch of ideas to think about.
I collected some stuff from the merchants and had a blether about the bathroom I had just looked at, then zoomed off to Harray to deal with a leak. It had shown up as a damp patch on the carpet a couple of feet from the wall. At first I thought it was a drip from the mains stopcock, but the floor directly below it was dry.
I chopped a fairly big bit of plasterboard out below the window and found the pipe which was leaking. Typically the leak was at the level of the window sill and to repair it I had to cut more plasterboard out at the side of the window. The repair itself was relatively easy to deal with, but finding it has made a mess of the walls. The customer is happy enough to get someone else in to sort the walls, which may be a bigger job than it appears as a lot of the plasterboard is saturated.
Back home for a quick clean up and change, then off out with Sigyn for a wander at Wasdale. We haven't been there for a while and she enjoyed crashing through the undergrowth and splashing around in the loch.
After a late lunch and a bit of paperwork I zoomed across to Stromness to put out hay for the horses and give them a check over. Sadly it appears that the repair I did on the trailer at the weekend hasn't worked and the stub axle broke off again. I will try to repair it again tomorrow, perhaps with a little bit of help from my beautiful wife.
