I'd said Katie could stay home from nursery all day today as we had plans for this afternoon but she really wanted to go see Brookey and her friends. So she went in for a few hours this morning. Brooke's mum messaged me later to say how extremely excited the girls had been to be reunited. I picked her up just after she'd finished her lunch (they eat very early) and we cycled to meet good friends of mine who are visiting from Ireland. They've not seen Katie in a year and couldn't believe the difference. We had a relaxed lunch (Katie ate again!) before I took them to one of our favourite walking spots. Katie took them into the "Whispering Woods" to go look for bears. Lots of quiet voices were needed as we found the room where the bear and his 10 friends were all sleeping! We said hello to all the cows and enjoyed ice cream under a big shadey tree. We took them into town and Katie ran straight to the babyccino shop. We all did a couple of little jobs before saying goodbye to them.

I told Katie as we were about to leave that I'd had a message that Grandad had arrived at our house. Boy was she excited then! We got back to find them both enjoying the sunshine and swimming pool - thankfully I'd spent lots of the morning adding quite a bit more water! Katie joined them straight away. She didn't make it to teatime though before she needed to go to sleep. One happy little girl!!
