Life in Sunny Dubai

Testing

I had taken the day off, so there was no rush to get into the day. I thought G wasn't going back to school until September, but she is going tomorrow, so she did some prep for that. I made the bold decision to finally tackle a box in my room (an Ottoman) which hasn't been opened since we moved in 12 years ago!

I remembered two things that I had put in there - a duvet and a box of 40 Christmas crackers. When I opened it though, there was no duvet, the box of crackers had 50 in it plus there were three other boxes of 6! Two of the boxes had Bingo cards! Why we bought so many boxes of crackers between 2010 and 2012, I have no idea, but they are all new and can be used, I hope! So my plan to house some of what came off my desk is thwarted, for the time being at least.

G had spotted a shelf with drawers that could work for my desk when we walked through IKEA yesterday, so we went to buy it. My blip was taken by G on the drive there, using an old camera that I found whilst tidying up. It is our "Mall". The palace is Sheikh Mohammed's primary home.

I assembled the unit when we got home whilst watching the movie "Goodnight Mister Tom". I think I am past my furniture assembly days. I finished later than expected but wanted to try it out, so G helped me put it in place. I can't say it is working as I imagined. There was only enough time to position devices and connect them. I'll have to test it tomorrow.
