Another week of hot (max 32/3C) weather forecast (although Windy disagrees). There is talk of an Atlantic air mass pushing in during the first week of September but these can be pretty hit and miss affairs. From the second week of August it’s forecast that the Azores high will extend across southern Europe bringing the ‘old school’ summer weather of sun and lower temperatures. Wouldn’t be a bad time for a last minute dash for sun before the equinox if the forecasts hold true. October and November already being signalled for heat anomalies in Italy of + 2-3C. A critical period for rain.

Late edition: (addition? Ed) a late summer crocus in the ancient beech forests at La Verna at +1000 m alt.
