Here's one I made earlier
After yesterday's trial run here is today's redcurrant jelly.
This time I followed the recipe to a T (well I only had 680g of currants - the allotment hadn't read the recipe) sieving through two layers of muslin in a nylon sieve. But then the true Northerner in me came out. In the fight between a pure clear jelly and getting the max out the latter won and I pushed as much through the sieve as possible! Personally, I'd have avoided the faff and just made jam but K finds the seeds get annoyingly stuck in his teeth. So jelly it is.
Lesson of the day
Even though my walking speed has reduced considerably in the last few years, I still walk way, way too quickly for this heat.
Oh and another cracking stage in the Tour. Richie Porte, take a bow. Good stage for Team Sky. And a great win for Rui Costa.
