Lessons of the day

1) Leaving redcurrants in a plastic bag over the weekend because you forgot K brought them back from the allotment is not a good idea.

2) Delia's redcurrant jelly does not appear to be 100% scaleable for smaller quantities.

3) This can be rectified by cutting with boiling water. Result!

A later visit to the allotment yielded raspberries (all gone as I'm backblipping), vast quantities of redcurrants, a courgette, fennel, rocket, an objecting hip and several scratches from the invading blackberry bushes. Sudacrem dealt with the latter thankfully so a positive haul.

It looks like we'll be overrun with fennel soon. Which is great as I love it but if anyone has any ideas for what to do with a small glut I'd love to hear them. We did find one recipe that needs 7 bulbs. That may do it!
