Grey Heron...

...in the top of a birch by the pond. They used to be very rare, but it seems they have become much more common here lately. I saw three of them a few days ago, but my attempt to get a shot of them in flight turned out blurry. This one was sitting there long enough for me to get the camera from the house and walk slowly nearer along the road, must have been more than 10 minutes. As I stayed on the road, I had to shoot from about 150 metres and crop the shot heavily.

There were a few showers, mostly in the morning, so I started the day sorting things out on the computer and continued sorting in things out in the garage. Not much rain though, just 1.5 millimetres.
