Podgill Viaduct
A spectacular structure.... I suspect. Sadly, in the 30 years since it's restoration it hasn't really been maintained and now it's nearly impossible to get a view of, the viewing platform now blocked off (I climbed over, but it's so overgrown there's nothing to see). You'll just have to believe me that it's there in those trees somewhere.
Made the wise/sad/good decision to cancel the Mountain Skills course I was running for a friend Weds/Thurs. I was doing it as a favour, but taking beginners out in gale force winds and zero visibility seems a recipe made to put them off mountains. As I was doing it as a favour there's no financial loss, but a huge, much needed, time win for me.
The final deciding factor was the line in the forecast which read "temperature at 750m asl will be 6 degC. With windchill it will feel like minus 7".
It's August, just yuck.
