A quiet jaunt through
the park but a stunning drive
to get to my home

I was a slug this morning. I didn't leave the house until 7:30 even though it's a beautiful morning. I headed straight for McArthur Island which already had too many people there for my liking.

I parked by the Butterfly Garden to get shots of the footbridge including a cyclist who seemed to pose for me.

I walked across the bridge getting my sunny view of my mountains and a look into the slough. There were lots of duck but they were very quiet.
I am amazed to see them sleeping and floating.

I drove over to the south side, all the while scanning for marmots. Not one was to be found anywhere. Are they already in hibernation?

I found someone doing their motorcycle training in the parking lot behind the recreation centre. I had no idea they did this here.

I stopped for some groceries and a breakfast pickup, then headed for home along the route where I often find big horn sheep. To my great surprise it was a scene of some kind of police take-down. I have never seen so many police and unmarked vehicles in one place before. They had the small area around a parking lot completely sealed off. As I waited in line with the traffic I saw a man on the ground being hand-cuffed. The traffic began to move and I made my right turn onto the road below my house. There were more police vehicles blocking that route and starting to disband. Besides the police in uniform, there were a number of men in khaki uniforms with unmarked vehicles carrying big rifles. I was shocked.

I arrived home safely and will remain for the day. Much more paperwork to occupy me today.
