I Will Wear Purple
My new glasses were ready for collection this morning on the other side of town, so His Lordship and I rode the no 35 bus through what must surely be the bumpiest congested cobbled streets in Edinburgh down to Leith.
I use the word 'rode' advisedly as it felt like breaking in a horse as we lurched and bucked over the uneven surfaces wending our way through the tourist traffic to Ocean Terminal.
I have gone for purple trim on my new specs: it seems a nod in the right direction to the poem, 'When I'm an old lady I will wear purple...' .
I just need the red hat and the stick now.
