LIFE!!!

This afternoon, I went along to the Alexandra Unit at DGRI with my choir, the Cairn Chorus, to sing for Lorna and David. Some beautiful songs had been chosen; I didn't know them all but thought I would mime or hum along with the rest. We sang in the garden outside Lorna's room. Our singing was so graciously received that I felt that it was we who had been given a gift.

I walked there and back from Lincluden, along the cycle path. This sculpture, commissioned by Sustrans, is by Dylan Esposito and is called "Touch Base". It was made a couple of years ago for Disability History Month and references Hugh Blair of Borgue - the first documented autistic person in Scotland. I remember that some of our trainees were involved in its creation.

I picked some brambles on my way home and we have just eaten them for our tea.
