Prickly Pear Cactus

This particular Prickly Pear is call the Cow's Tongue Cactus. I've been watching it for a few days now waiting for the lighting to be just right. This afternoon is seemed to work well and the adobe wall behind it really made its accompanying shadow so pretty. I guess what I like about this image is the detail and the non-detail, the sharpness and the blurriness, and the beautiful green against the nondescript background.
