The Light at First Light

Our last day "Up North" before heading home. I had my alarm set for 6:21 a.m. in an attempt to see the sunrise. The 'rise wasn't spectacular, but it is always good to be around the lighthouse that is called Old Mackinac Point. It is a beautiful old building in a lovely setting on Lake Huron.

Speaking of Huron, what is the acronym used to remember the Great Lakes? 
H-O-M-E-S, Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, and Superior. 

After we roused the 2 teenagers, we left Mackinaw City and followed US-23 down the Lake Huron coast, getting home at about 6 p.m.
