Friday Walk

My friend Isa and I met for a 10 km walk this afternoon. It was still quite hot at 31°C, but our hike took us into the shady beech forest and the slightly cooler Taunus hills, to this little lake and up the Kellerskopf. That’s a prominent hill with iron age earthworks and a modern day restaurant, where we stopped for a meal (and saw a biplane flying overhead) before walking back, all downhill, to the car park. I am adding an extra collage with impressions from our mini adventure.

It was fun, Isa had picked a lovely area for a walk, and we had plenty of water to drink on the way. I still found it exhausting in the heat, and am hoping to sleep well after 18,000 steps today.

Thankfully the heatwave is coming to an end soon, with rain and cooler temperatures tomorrow and on Sunday. I am looking forward to it.
