It's a lacklustre
start to my day - I could have
easily missed it!

I was up before 5 peering out over the city trying to determine weather and air quality. The smoke isn't bad, but we've got cloud, possible showers and even a thunderstorm in the afternoon. I could miss this one! 

I decided not to venture far or walk for very long. I drove down to Westmount Park so I could view the railway bridge and the north river. 

I caught the Canadian National freight train coming into the terminal. The train was more than 100 cars. I lost count. 

While waiting for the bridge to clear I struck up a conversation with a man walking his sweet dog. We discussed city politics and other gritty issues. He handed me a dog biscuit so I could reward his dog when he sat. Lovely! 

I was soon off for breakfast and home. I get a visit with a dear friend this afternoon, then I'm taking the weekend off. 

I'm calling this an emergency blip. My apologies. I've run out of juice this week.
