Transport Museum, Wythall, Worcestershire
Another day out with the Dene Valley u3a Planes, Trains and Automobiles special interest group. This time to the Bus Museum at Wythall, south of Birmingham.
You could not expect me to visit the museum without using an image of a bus. So this blip is of an express coach built by Midland Red to compete with the trains on the London route. It had a top speed of 110 miles an hour and was driven on the unrestricted M1. How times change.
First extra was of a lovely sign from 1935.
Second extra is of one of the volunteers who provided the tour. So many wonderful stories retold. Both our guides were first rate and the museum opened up just for our group today.
Bowls match was cancelled this evening. Heavy downpour just before the match was due to be played.
