The Grey Buoy

The grey buoy attached to this boat is the last marker for the Selkies on their morning ‘round the circuit of 4 coloured buoys’ swim. I’m happy at moment if I manage 2  which includes this one. I have the distinct feeling that the buoy senses me coming and deviously floats further away as I approach. Come to think of it, the slip seems to do the same when I’m on the return swim.
I have to up my game before the holiday is over to be on level pegging with these ladies.

One of the Selkies came for coffee this morning which was lovely. Since Covid, I have got out of the habit of house coffee mornings and instead,in Edinburgh, we usually arrange to meet in a local café. It felt good for a change to have someone come to the house. I’m gradually getting to know the Selkies in more depth than you can accomplish just on the dips.

Yesterday evening the Cheeky Money Taxi Service Inc put on another cordon bleu meal for me in their bolt hole overlooking Scapa Flow. It was sunny outside and so welcoming inside - they are very generous and entertaining hosts. I was even allowed to partake of some CMC’s very special birthday chocolate  Brazil Nuts, not to mention the wine tasting. It was all hugely enjoyable.
