Out and About...With Giant Trout
After breakfasting on Grandma Lisa's famous egg casserole, we left cousin Billy's log cabin at high noon...headed farther north. We ended up in Petoskey, Michigan for the night.
Northern Michigan is known for its trout streams, and this giant fish is in Kalkaska, Michigan.
The highlight of the day was probably the ride up to the top of Boyne Mountain...via the ski chair lift. We don't have the elevation in Michigan to rival the western states ski hills, but it was a glorious view from the top. In an effort to drum up Summer business, Boyne Mountain has constructed a 1,200 ft. long suspension bridge that gently sways while you are walking across it. I didn't particularly like the feeling, but it wasn't too bad.
This is daughter Karen, friend B, and grandson Merrick in the picture. The name of the fish? Bartholomew the Brook.
