The Window Ledge

This lovely orchid resides on the window ledge of my Mother's room. One of  my cousins gave it to her last September, and after it flowered it was largely neglected by my Mum, but look at it now! 
This afternoon, we took my Mum for an  audiology check up. Just as well, because one hearing aid wasn't working at all, and on the other side, the ear  was blocked with wax! 
This morning, I returned to my optician friends in Stockbridge, found a frame I liked, and and ordered a new pair of spectacles.
It rained a lot this afternoon and I discovered  a very wet  Peter tortoise stranded in his enclosure, too cold and lethargic to make his way back home! However, he soon perked up when I moved him to  the  foot of the ramp to his house, and hand- fed  him a supper of strawberries and bindweed leaves. Then he toddled off to bed.
