The accidental finding

Playing with patterns

This is the fabric of my dress and the red rug, woven into a pattern with mirror effects.

I sat at my desk all day. I worked. Steve went down to the river Severn. Working from home on a hot day is unbearable, in parts. After I finished I wanted to go for a walk but I also wanted to do very little, so I read magazine article instead, about a man who guides rich people up Everest for 250,000 pounds s trip. He's been to the summit 18 times. The ascent has changed dramatically since the introduction of tourist guides in 1992, being less of a climb, though still no  walk in the park.

Now I'm watching the Scandi drama End of Summer on iPlayer, having also enjoyed Freddie Flintoff's Field of Dreams. Freddie has formed a scratch cricket team of a bunch of lads from his home city of Preston, and has taken them on tour to Kolkata, India. Can they find any team bad enough to compete against them ? It's fun. My mum grew up in Kolkata, where boys played 'gully cricket' in the street, bowling underarm and using a tennis ball. They still play it there today.
