Backblip from Sunday: went to the Potfest ceramics fair in Suffolk yesterday with a friend who is a keen potter. I love going to such events with her because I can dog her with rookie questions about technique or history. Once we’d had a scout around it was time for ice cream (especially delicious Alder Tree ice creams) and then a sit on the grass to listen to a string quartet. And why not? It was a lovely day and I managed to avoid buying any pottery. Result!
The extra is a small selection of Tony Laverick’s fabulous creations.
Cambridge took the UK heat record today at 34C. It was difficult being out in it but the house is cool, thankfully. It won’t last long!
Extra: my biggest temptation was Tony Laverick’s wonderful work. He creates colours, textures and shapes that please me enormously
