This was on my way back from the allotment. Just as these people were considering starting work, I was finished.

The pumpkins, courgettes and beans are turning into a veritable monster, with arms and legs everywhere. I'm putting it down to my hand pollination of them. This is something my allotment partner refuses to do. He calls it 'sexing them up'. There are many comments that have me chuckling. Anyway, it's working. We might have to have a pick your own pumpkin day at this rate.

Later, I rescued 6 5-foot verbena from my friends garden and replanted them. The overnight rain has meant they transferred easily.

And all day long the sun shone. Happy days.
