Fabulous Fennel
I’m so sad that the Olympics has finished. I’ve had a wonderful couple of weeks immersed in sport. What could be better?
Anyway, a final couple of bronze medals for Emily Campbell, our lone weightlifter and Emma Finucane, the new sprinter in the cycling team meant we ended up on 65 medals - one more than Tokyo, but less golds than we’d hoped.
I spent a good hour in the garden this afternoon, deadheading, collecting seeds and harvesting tomatoes and fennel. I’ve not grown it before so am intrigued to see how it tastes. I only had 3 seedlings that got planted out and they’re not ever so fat, but I’m sure they will be great. Thinking about making pesto with all the fronds tomorrow - has anybody tried this?
