Return Journey

So this weekend didn’t exactly go to plan!

By the end of today, I was supposed to have completed Ben Hope and the Brothers Ridge at Glen Shiel and enjoyed two nights in the Great Glen Youth Hostel.

Sadly, yesterday, my car broke down 10 miles away from Ben Hope (Scotland’s most northerly Munro) and we didn’t get collected until 22:30 last night.

Andy and I plus the car got taken from our very secluded breakdown point back to Alness (where Andy’s car was parked) and instead of Andy taking me back to the YH then him having to go back to Aboyne, we both just headed back to Aboyne where we arrived around 3:30am.

The car was being delivered to Dingwall where it will be fixed within a week.

I left Stonehaven by train today at 12:06 and should arrive home around 3pm this afternoon.

The Larbert lads have gone to Glen Etive instead of Glen Shiel last minute.

Bit of a disaster, but it could always have been worse!
