Same location, different engine and time….

…. from Thursday’s blip of Standard Class 4 at the end of service on Thursday.

Today we have the Terrier with a two coach service on the B set pulling away from Rolvenden station ready to collect the token from me.

Terriers are synonymous with the KESR having run on the line for over 100 years. The engines themselves are old too, well over 150 years. They are so called because of the distinctive bark of their exhaust.

The second of three turns in 4 days at Rolvenden signalbox. An earlier start but an earlier finish as there was a relief signalman on for the evening shift for the Wealden Pullman.

A very good day. Three crossing moves and some different workings with an early morning DMMU and a late afternoon DMMU trip to familiarise new volunteers with the line.

Now nicely showered, booted and suited, waiting for Saturday evening to get underway
