"It's a Sportster Jim..............

But not as we know it" -  Star Trek fans will get it.
Just about a mile away, towards Gloucester City centre, is Oily Rag, motorcycle clothing and café.
This weekend they are hosting Harley Davidson, with a great variety of bikes available for a guided group test ride.
I looked, a week or more ago, on the website to book a ride on the Sportster S, as in the blip. All slots were booked but I thought I'd like to pop along and mooch around the anyway. I got there at about 9:50 and saw a couple of my RBL Riders friends were there so had a chat, then walked over the lady doing the booking. I asked if there'd been any cancellations, particularly for the Sportster S. She looked at her sheet and said "You can have the 'S' at 10:00, better go and grab your gear". One of my friends snapped a photo of me when I was booking in (Extra).
So, after a briefing on the bikes switches etc, which are quite different to mine, and another briefing to the group about the ride, off we went.
It was about 19 miles, away from Gloucester, past our house (I didn't beep my horn in case the ride stewards thought there was a problem), up to Painswick village in the Cotswolds, turned off to head towards Cheltenham and then again turned and went back to Gloucester on the A417. We got up to 75mph and I decided that, if I did ever get an 'S', it would definitely need a windshield. I looked on line and I could get one for less than £80, unless I got the proper Harley one which would be nearer £400 - That's Harley for you.
Anyway, I did enjoy the ride but it's a very different sportster to mine!
