Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep …
… high above me in Waterton Canyon, a very easy walk and just a few minutes drive from both son’s and granddaughter’s houses. I had no idea that so much wildlife was in this area! These sheep live in large herds and do not typically follow a single leader ram, unlike the mouflon which I have blipped in Switzerland and is similar (extra). This sheep is the ancestor of the domestic sheep.
Another treat in the canyon was watching a Belted Kingfisher, again, similar to ours in Switzerland, but very different markings (second extra).
The sea fret type rain on our walk disappeared from my mind watching these unusual animals and birds. What a treat!
Now waiting for the 4th grandchild to arrive then the four siblings will be together for us, fantastic!
