L’entreé

A day of brightness and showers but kind enough to allow  me to get back and forth to the slip dry for the daily dook. I thought it was windy although I’m not sure if the locals though the same or termed it just breezy, but the wind was strong enough to blow me away from the starting point at the foot of the slip quite quickly. You can see why disasters happen when swimmers get blown out to sea.

I got a lift through to Kirkwall with the Edinburgh visiting Selkie and after doing our own thing for an hour we met up for a bowl of soup and a sandwich at the Garden Centre. It was hot and bright at that stage allowing us to sit outside for a while.
I was then taken on a tour of the industrial site at Hatston. Who knew there were so many outlets there? Certainly not I who have only seen those on the bus route which goes through it. Cheese and fish were bought by my driver while I managed to resist, feeling the weight of my earlier Tesco purchases in my rucksack.

Having done very little so far today, I feel strangely tired and so I am happy to watch the divers and cyclists panelling themselves in the Olympics. I will try and raise my energy level and go for a walk later……..maybe, maybe not.
